When I handle the ureteral access sheath with my left hand, the ureter can be straightened. This is helpful to put the flexible ureteroscopy into the renal pelvis without mucosal damage. The access sheath should be fixed to the surgical drape with mosquito clamps not to be retrieved from the ureter.
