I developed this technique for the first time to evacuate the dusts generated during flexible ureteroscopic stone removal 2 years ago. I first introduced this technique in the regional meeting of AMEA (Asia-Middle East-Africa, Boston Scientific) in 2016.
Before evacuating, there must be many, many dusts in the renal pelvis and calyces after dusting technique.
If you use the dual lumen catheter like this, you can inspirate the irrigation fluid through one channel and aspirate the irrigation fluid and the dusts throught the other channel.
Finally you can see the clear filed in the renal collecting system. Sometime you can identify a remnant stone hidden in the middle of the dusts.
